A planer-thicknesser from sawn timber produces a flat, parallel and dimensionally accurate planed element — the foundation of every solid wood product. Hammer A3 31 is a new combined machine of Austrian manufacture that planes to a width of 310 mm and thickness-planes to 306 mm.

A 3 kW motor drives the planing spindle in spiral design with interchangeable HM knives with four cutting edges — this means quieter operation and cleaner surface even on demanding timber. Transition between planing and thickness-planing is quick thanks to simultaneous lifting of both planing tables; the thickness table ranges from 4 to 225 mm, feed runs at 6 m/min.
